The Asian Students’ Association will host events around the school the week of Feb. 5 to celebrate the Lunar New Year.

“The Lunar New Year is very important not only in Chinese culture but in many Asian countries’ ways of life,” ASA President Hongjia Chen said.

One event will include a large buffet filled with Korean, Vietnamese and Chinese traditional foods. In addition, the ASA will arrange a dumpling-eating contest as well as a chopstick contest. The infamous chopstick contest will ask participants to pick up as many M&M’s as possible in the time allotted.

Hongjia expressed that he has always enjoyed the week filled with activities in his three years at U-High, and he plans to continue the festivities honoring Asian culture in the Lab community.
