Students may pick up course materials and yearbooks curbside beginning today. Designated times are 3:30-7 p.m. on Sept. 9 and 10, and 10 a.m.-1 p.m. on Sept. 12 on Kimbark Avenue outside Gordon Parks Arts Hall. Materials include supply kits, binders and books for math, science, art and English classes.

Returning students may pick up their U-Highlights yearbook, and ninth graders who attended Lab’s middle school may pick up their yearbook. 2020 graduates or families may also pick up their yearbook.

“We’re trying to support kids’ at-home remote learning experience as much as possible, and the teachers that are distributing materials today felt that they had something that would help support kids,” Dean of Students Ana Campos said.

According to a Sept. 4 email from Principal Paul Beekmeyer, students and their families must maintain social distancing and wear masks while waiting for their materials.

“We’re hoping that most people will arrive in car. That just makes it easiest,” Ms. Campos said.

Vehicles arriving at Gordon Parks Arts Hall must display a student’s name to receive course materials.

Families unable to pick up course materials in person should contact high school secretary Carol Arrington.
