U-High Midway

Priyanka Shrijay
I first joined the U-High Midway staff as a freshman in the Accelerated Beginning Journalism program. Since then I have served as a reporter and then the opinion editor for the 2017-18 academic year. My favorite part of journalism is working with different people to share and represent their voices in the Midway. In addition to working on the Midway, I am also involved in piano and Indian classical dance outside of school.

Honors:
2018 Quill and Scroll Writing, Photography and Multimedia: Honorable mention, feature writing
2018 Illinois Journalism Education Association: Named to All-State Journalism Team
2018 Illinois Journalism Education Association: First place, personality profile
2018 Illinois Journalism Education Association: First place, audio podcast with Emma Trone and Michael Rubin

2017 Illinois Journalism Education Association: First place, serious commentary
2017 Illinois Journalism Education Association: Second place, single-page story package
