Kia Dutta: Candidate for Cultural Union vice president
If I was elected as Cultural Union vice president, I’d push for events to be decided collectively rather than simply by Student Council. That would allow for events that a wider range of students would enjoy.
As someone who has upheld several leadership roles at U-High — whether that’s leading clubs, being a part of the Maroon Key Society or being a DEI facilitator — I believe that I possess strong management skills that would allow me to run through a smooth year as CU VP. I also just really enjoy planning, which is a huge component of the role.
I’ll work closely with faculty to gain their input as well as arrange events. Further, I’d love to use my role to arrange more events that allow faculty and students to participate together; taking down the divide between the two groups will allow us all to get to know each other outside the classroom.
