Patty Kovacs’ coffee cake

College counselor Patty Kovacs first learned this recipe from her mother, but in the end it was her own touch that made it perfect.

“It is an adaptation of my mother’s recipe, that she gave to me twice and I realized when I was making it, after a number of years, I said, ‘Wait a minute, there’s something missing: eggs!’ So I adapted my mom’s recipe,” Ms. Kovacs said, laughing.
