Latinos Unidos raises over $1600 for families at border
March 11, 2021
In a recent fundraiser, Latinos Unidos raised over $1,600 selling shirts to benefit “Every Last One,” which aims to aid families and kids at the southern border, who continue to struggle.
The club members doubled their efforts to combat a lack of in-person connection generated by online learning. With support from club adviser Sari Hernandez and Dean of Students Ana Campos, club members were able to spread awareness and raise interest.
They spent over a month designing the shirt, gathering and incorporating input from every club member.
The club was very excited to learn how much they had raised.
Veronica Godina, a club leader, recalled “refreshing the page in class, and seeing the numbers go up.”
She said club members had a good feeling about the sale.
“Everyone was very excited,” she said.
