The Mock Trial team competed in the Illinois State Bar Association Invitational on March 11-12, where the team did not make the finals but still performed well and made improvements from previous competitions.

This year the competition organizers did not tell teams their score or rank. While the team did not end up making the finals, according to co-captain Lena Stole, the team received positive evaluations, identified places of improvement and jurors commended them on their preparation. She also noted that the judges and jurors said both of their rounds were close results.

“It was a really good experience and we made a lot of improvements,” Lena, a junior, said. “Over half the team is new this year, so it was really good to work with new people, and we’re really proud of ourselves and our work.”

This was the last competition for the team this year, but they plan on competing in the competition next year.
