Senior Colin Leslie pitched a perfect game at the baseball team’s first conference game of the season. The Maroons beat Northridge College Prep 3-0 on April 12.

During seven innings, Colin’s pitching yielded no runs to the opposing team and recorded 10 strike-outs. Colin also hit a triple, which helped score the winning run.

Colin was excited that the team won its first game this season.

“When it was over, it felt really good because not only was it a great personal achievement, but it was also, like, nice to win a close game,” Colin said.

Head coach Luke Zavala was thoroughly impressed with Colin’s presence on the team.

“He’s a really hard worker, definitely a leader on the team,” Mr. Zavala said. “Baseball is one of the things that he’s passionate about, and so he’s dedicated a lot of time in the offseason to improving his craft, and the success showed.”

Colin has a goal to win the ISL Conference.

We haven’t won in a long time. I’ve never won conference on our team. That’s definitely a goal that we have,” Colin said. “It was definitely nice to start with a win.”
