Festival Fun: Your guide to upcoming festivals

As summer approaches, Chicago’s beginning to buzz. Check out these neighborhood festivals that highlight Chicago artists and businesses.

 

The Chicago Food Truck Fest 

June 25-26 at 11 a.m. in the South Loop

The festival will offer catering from over 150 gourmet food and local food trucks.

 

Hyde Park Summer Fest 

June 11-12 from 12-10 p.m. on the Midway Plaisance

The festival will feature small businesses and will host both hip-hop and house DJs.  

 

Chicago Pride Fest 

June 25-26 from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. at Grant Park

The festival will feature live music, food and drinks, merchant vendors, drag shows, pet parades and more. 

 

The Chosen Few Picnic and Festival 

July 2 at 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. in Jackson Park

It is the world’s longest-running event dedicated to house music and will feature a large range of music performances.  

 

The Millennium Park Art Festival

 July 15-17 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Michigan Avenue

Art ranging from paintings to furniture pieces will be for sale. The festival will also have artist demonstrations, festival food and live music performances. 

 

The Wave Wall Wax 

Every Saturday at 5 p.m. from May 28-Sept. 3 at Navy Pier

The festival is a weekly live DJ music festival and will feature Chicago’s top DJs, music to dance to and other forms of entertainment.
