Midway to take publishing break over the summer

Midway Staff

After an eventful year of coverage, the staff will take a break from publishing over the summer.

Dear readers,

The 2021-22 school year has seen a dedicated team of reporters, editors, artists and photographers join together to produce acclaimed journalism. As U-High navigated the adjustment to fully in-person school, our staff worked to fairly cover the big and small moments that comprised this strange year. We began producing consistent print editions of the Midway again and had to react quickly to frequent changes for mask requirements, mandated testing and new restrictions.

After an eventful year of coverage, the staff will take a break from publishing over the summer, except in the event of significant breaking news. We are proud of how much the paper has grown in the past year, and we hope to continue this growth in the fall, as we continue the 98th edition.

Beyond the scope of the Midway, global and national events have demanded public attention as we end the school year. We urge U-High students to seek out quality journalism this summer to stay informed.

Sincerely,

Clare, Téa, William
