What sort of ideas, projects or initiatives do you have for next year? What is your main goal?
“We have gym assemblies where they have volunteers playing games. If the weather is nice out, I want to try and play like capture the flag or something like that, per grade. So there’s going to be a tighter knit community in terms of our grade and we can do more fun things together. Another thing would be like if we’re having DEI assembly, we can try to add more music. Or maybe the club or affinity group who is running it could bring food or something that will make it more interactive.”
What experiences and skills make you qualified for this position?
“I was president at my summer camp for eight weeks, and I ran a couple of things. Mostly I was just listening to the whole group of the community and I would try to do that for this school and this grade, too. I feel like a lot of the reasons why a certain president will win in terms of grade-wise is because they have a lot of friends or they have a lot of people that they are very nice to. I want to win based off of them liking my ideas, and I can actually listen to them and act based on my ideas.”
How do you plan on being the middleman at the intersection of high school students, faculty and administration?
“I plan to listen to both teachers and students because my ideas aren’t anything if the whole of teachers and students don’t agree. So if they both are giving me ideas, I’ll promise to listen and give my opinion on that. Because it’s not me, I’m just acting as a student medium for the whole student body.”
