The Democratic National Convention kicked off Monday, Aug. 19, with messages of unity and hope. The night celebrated President Joe Biden’s service to the country and the passing of the torch to Vice President Kamala Harris. Mr. Biden delivered the keynote speech after a night of speeches from elected officials such as former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and U.S. Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and nonpoliticans such as basketball coach Steve Kerr and actor Tony Goldwyn.
