Three new clubs have formed to provide spaces for students to engage in self-expression through music, art and poetry.
The A Capella Club works to create an inclusive environment for high school students to sing and have fun together. Through alto and soprano voices, the A Capella Club sings, “a lot of oldies” according to club co-leader Grace La Belle.
“I think because music was such an important part of my life I wanted to take that next step by doing A Capella Club,” Grace said.
A Capella Club meets Tuesdays at lunch in Room N-208.
The Artsy Vibes Collective, founded by Sahana Agarwal, is focused on creating a space for students to come together and create art.
Sahana said she named the club a collective because it emphasized the collaborative nature of the club and making art with friends. Sahana hopes it will be a safe space where people feel welcome to hang out, relax and create.

Sophomores Orlie Weitzman and Zachary McKnight lead the Poets Society, a club for aspiring and new writers to learn and write poetry without the pressure of being graded.
Zach said he was astounded that Lab didn’t have a poetry club and wanted to create a place where students had the ability toshare their work without criticism.
Poets Society meets every three weeks Thursday at lunch in Room C-408.
