In advance of parent-teacher conferences on Nov. 21-22, the high school administration will send an email in mid-November to parents regarding the Zoom conferences and how to prepare for them.
A spreadsheet will list each teacher’s name with a link for parents to schedule a time according to the teacher’s available times, assistant principal Zilkia Rivera-Vazquez said.
Teachers organize their meetings using a Calendly account, a calendar that has all the times for their meetings with parents.
Ms. Rivera-Vazquez recommended parents to read the child’s midterm comments, which come out Nov. 6, in order to prepare before the conference.
Parents do not have to meet with all the teachers their child has. They can choose whichever teacher they want to talk to, Ms. Rivera-Vazquez said.
The high school started Zoom conferences because of the coronavirus pandemic but decided to keep it to Zoom to allow the meeting to be more private and flexible for the parents.
