The varsity soccer team became regional finalists this season, losing to Cristo Rey Jesuit High School 3-0 at a home game on Oct. 22.
Last year, the team became super sectionals finalists where they lost 2-1.
Throughout this season, senior co-captain Noah Hoereth focused on continuing the team’s success from last year and building on the players’ skills.
During this season older students have been building on what they learned in previous seasons, Noah said, “and trying to just keep moving forward.”
This season featured a lot of changes for the varsity team, including new head coach, David Vadeboncoeur and four new ninth grade team members. At first, Noah found it difficult to adjust to these changes.
“We have a lot of new kids on the team who have never played varsity soccer before,” Noah said. He was proud that more experienced team members stepped up to help these newcomers.
Despite this season’s setbacks, Noah is excited about what the new members will mean for the team.
Noah said, “I just love to see more people stepping up and being leaders and just taking the sport really, really seriously.”
