In January, seniors battle it out in a pingpong game as other students relax in the senior lounge. The lounge was temporarily closed from Nov. 19 to Dec. 2 after a lockdown drill during which seniors disrupted the space.

Before the Dec. 18 high school music concert at Mandel Hall, ninth grader Ari Wong prepares by wetting the reed for his clarinet while laughing and playing around with a friend’s violin.

U-High’s band, choir, orchestra and Chamber Collective performed at the annual winter concert on Dec. 18 at Mandel Hall. Many groups played Christmas or holiday-related songs, including the Chamber Collective, which played a Charlie Brown Christmas medley. The orchestra and band played together for the first time since before the pandemic. Here is a review of moments from during the concert and backstage.
