Curtrice Scott has been hired as the new director of alumni relations and development for the Laboratory Schools beginning Jan. 21.
The alumni relations and development office is responsible for volunteer opportunities for students and teachers, as well as planning fundraisers, events and programs for the benefit of the school.
Ms. Scott has served as associate director and director of the Coase-Sandor Institute at the University of Chicago Law School. She has also worked as chief development officer for research at Northwestern University.
Among her accomplishments, Ms. Scott has led a campaign that raised more than $20 million in commitments and organized over 50 donor engagement events and programs.
According to an announcement from the Laboratory Schools Ms. Scott has built impressive leadership, independent thinking and problem solving skills from her previous roles. The announcement stated that she is excited to participate in the opportunities and community that Lab provides and is looking forward to sharing her ideas and helping to improve the alumni relations and development office this year.
