All Laboratory Schools campuses will be closed on Feb. 12 due to unsafe weather conditions, and no classes will meet. The official announcement to the Lab community was emailed at around 8:15 p.m. on Feb. 11, following an earlier update that evening stating that the weather was being monitored. “When it is safe to do so, we always want to keep school open and be in community with our students. However, the National Weather Service continues to forecast a strong likelihood of unsafe conditions at dismissal and homeward commutes, especially for families and educators who live at a distance,” the email wrote.
Extended day and all athletics are canceled. While Early Childhood and Lower School will not be given remote learning and assignments, U-High students may have additional assignments or suggested work that must be posted by 8:30 a.m. on Feb. 12. Since the U-High assemblies were canceled, ninth graders and sophomores will now have a required assembly during Lab B on Thursday so that they receive course registration information for next year.
Classes are expected to resume in person on Feb. 13.

Extended Day and Athletics
All Extended Day activities, and all Athletics games and practices, are canceled.
Early Childhood and Lower School
This is a “traditional” snow day for Early Childhood and Lower School. Remote learning and assignments will not be given. Lower School students are encouraged to read and have the option of typing practice and math fact fluency practice through their school Google accounts. The Early Childhood P2P is rescheduled for Thursday, February 20 at the same time, 8:30 a.m. Enjoy and stay warm.
Middle School and U-High
Middle School and U-High students should check Schoology to see if their teachers have posted assignments or suggested enrichment work. We encourage you to use your free time to relax.
