The internship program Summer Link will allow rising juniors and seniors to gain work experience in science, business and the social science fields after completing an application process that is due soon.

The University of Chicago and City of Chicago Department of Law are just two of the opportunities of employers offering internships, said Susan Augustine, a librarian who coordinates Summer Link humanities internships with history teacher Christopher Janus. Students must go through an application process to be placed at a site.

Similar to the humanities branch, the Summer Link science branch finds researchers specifically within The University of Chicago. Since there is less variance in the places students get to work, coordinator Sharon Housinger, a science teacher, matches students with professors who are researching subjects students are interested in.

Applications are due on Feb. 14 for the humanities branch of Summer Link and Feb. 22 for the science branch. There is a science Summer Link informational meeting during lunch Feb. 14 in C323. Attendance is not required to apply.
