Winter formal draws large attendance
February 12, 2019
The annual Winter Formal dance Saturday evening, Feb. 9, had a strong turnout with about 200 students attending — much more than last year’s dance, according to Cultural Union organizers.
Student leaders were happy with the turnout and energy throughout the dance, which was held at the Chicago Theological Seminary.
“I think we’re all really happy,” Kepler Boonstra, junior Cultural Union representative, said. “There was a good turnout and high energy throughout the dance.”
One of the major changes Cultural Union implemented this year was using a student-created playlist instead of hiring a DJ, which allowed more budgetary freedom.
Kepler said this saved money and allowed organizers to buy more food to provide for free.—
