Admissions applications for Lab’s 2021-22 academic year opened in early September and will close Nov. 9. 

This year, U-High’s open house was held virtually on Oct. 24 through the school’s website. Prospective students and families could attend a virtual tour and receive information about academics and the Lab community. Recorded versions of the general information session and curriculum guides will be available on the school’s website for those unable to attend. 

Similar to previous years, the application process is digital. Students can apply by making an account on the school website, through which they submit their transcript and recommendations from teachers. 

Additionally, the U-High application requires two entrance exams and an interview with a member of the high school admissions committee. 

Due to concerns over in person learning as a result of the pandemic, the number of open slots to be filled this year are uncertain.

“We encourage families to apply and explore their options,” said Kerry Tulson, assistant director of admissions.

Additionally, formal U-high admissions presentations will happen on Oct. 29 and Nov. 6, regarding information about specific academic programs and general admission information.

Ms. Tulson also said that interested families could find more information about the admissions process on the school website or by setting up a meeting with a member of the admissions committee.
