Applications open through May 12 for DEI peer facilitator position
May 5, 2021
High school students can now apply to be a DEI peer facilitator until May 12. Priyanka Rupani, director of diversity, equity and inclusion, is now accepting students to join the student team of facilitators who advocate for diversity and lead dialogs about issues concerning diversity.
Applicants must submit a short essay and a video explaining why they wish to become DEI peer facilitators. A selected group of applicants will subsequently be requested to interview for the position on May 18 or 26.
“I encourage anyone who is a current ninth grader, sophomore or junior to apply who really wants to shape and guide DEI conversations for Lab and who are interested in developing their skills and either want to step out of their comfort zones and want to lead dialog or already like to do that and want to have this leadership opportunity,” Ms. Rupani said.
Topics of dialogs include racial, gender and diversity justice. Between 11 and 19 slots will be filled, and applicants will find out by the end of May if they have been selected.
