Sound: A recording of the club
That is the sound of one of the many documentaries created this year by the U-High Film Society. Every Wednesday at lunch, U-High Film Society teaches students with basic filmmaking skills like using their phones, to work with actual equipment to portray stories through film.
President Zoe Alphonse says that Film Society has been a place where students could learn something new.
Club vice president Amira Moultrie said club shopping was a successful time for them and they have only grown with members since then. Zoe adds that their recent publicity has attracted new members.
Zoe tells people to focus on those who could be relatable in some sort of way and portray their stories through film.
Zoe says that besides film, members of the club have learned time management skills because of the nature of their filming.
Amira says that their plans for the future include creating bigger projects.
Meanwhile they will still spend their Wednesdays at lunch, filming.
