U-High has a new attendance project assistant. Kimmerly Hayes began working on Oct. 16.
The attendance project assistant is responsible for keeping track of high school students’ attendance and notifying students if they have reached too many absences or tardies, or if they have any unexplained absences.
“I think I bring good energy to Lab and help it to be a welcoming environment,” Ms. Hayes said. “The school needed help for the position, and I thought it would be a nice change.”
Ms. Hayes previously worked as a campus monitor during high school and middle school lunch periods, and as one of the Extended Day after school employees for lower and middle school students.
“We need to be accountable for students,” she explained. “It’s important that we know where students are at all times and have good communication with parents.”
Ms. Hayes can be found in the high school dean of students’ office.
