The Science Olympiad team started the season off with a strong performance at Marquette Invitational in Milwaukee on Nov. 17, where the varsity team placed third and the junior varsity team placed 11th.
This was the first time the team had attended this invitational since the 2021-22 season, so team captain Aneesh Pushparaj noted the experience was different from facing the Illinois teams they usually go up against.
“This invitational contains some of the hardest Wisconsin competition, so we are excited about this result,” Aneesh, a senior, said. “With a third place finish at such a competitive invitational, we are confident this team will do well in future competitions.
Aneesh said he is proud of the team’s results and hopeful for the rest of the season.
“This invitational happened to be pretty early in the season, leaving us less time to prepare,” Aneesh said. “However, the team still exceeded our goals with getting everything ready in time, and we hope to continue this momentum throughout the season.”
