Lisa Damour, a best-selling author and psychologist, will speak for the second time to the Lab community to discuss the challenges of adolescence on Oct. 29 from 6-7:30 p.m. during “Untangling Adolescence,” an online event sponsored by the Parents’ Association.

Members of the Lab community may attend the Zoom webinar by registering for the event.

“The upcoming talk is really focused on both boys and girls, and just helping them through all the challenges of adolescence and how parents can work on maintaining great relationships with them, even during challenging times,” Amanda Norton, speaker series coordinator of the Parents’ Association, said.

Dr. Damour spoke to the Lab community in April, where she addressed different ways to support children during the pandemic.

“Especially since we started remote learning, everybody’s life has probably had a little more stress in it of various kinds,” Ms. Norton said. “Dr. Damour had a lot of good strategies for figuring out how to create joy in your life, deal with stress and enjoy your family.”

During her April talk, Dr. Damour encouraged parents to help their children reach their highest potential by offering guidance.

“My biggest takeaways from the talk was to be calm and try to find joy in my children every day,” Ms. Norton said.
