Before leaving Lab at the end of the school year, Priyanka Rupani will be the commencement speaker for the Class of 2021 graduation due to her involvement in the Lab community.

The continued distribution of vaccines nationwide means the chances are looking good for an in-person graduation for the Class of 2021, where the graduation committee recently announced the commencement speaker would be Priyanka Rupani, Lab’s director of diversity equity and inclusion. Ms. Rupani is also a 2006 U-High alumna.

“We just thought it would kind of fit perfectly,” said Senior Class President Antonio Gracias and member of the 2021 graduation committee. “She’s a Lab alum, which is a thing that people really ask for in a commencement speaker, and she’s very involved in the community.”

Ms. Rupani is also leaving Lab at the end of the school year, much like the Senior Class.

The school did not hold an in-person graduation for the Class of 2020 last June.
