During lunch on Nov. 13, the Black Students’ Association hosted its annual Blacksgiving event, open to all of U-High. Students, faculty and staff packed C116, with the line to get food bursting out of the red double-doors. BSA catered the massive amounts of food from Harold’s Chicken and U-High’s food vendor, HandCut Foods. Members of BSA also helped to serve the food, warmly interacting with members of the community.
During the entire Blacksgiving event, BSA co-presidents Joshua Carter and Juliana Walker, along with other members, faculty and staff, kindly served the delicious food to the U-High community. Joshua said he felt sentimental that this was his last year participating in Blacksgiving but still greatly enjoyed the event. “BSA as a whole, but specifically the board, loves to serve our community and see people smile,” Joshua said, “so, having an event where everyone provides food and we can kind of just enjoy and share food from all over the world is just really meaningful.”
