Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, a deep cleaning at the Laboratory Schools started Thursday, March 19.

The cleaning was to begin with common spaces and Judd offices so necessary administrators and staff will be allowed to return to work. The rest of Lab’s buildings and classrooms will be cleaned by March 30.

The deep clean was arranged through existing university contracts for custodial services according to U-High principal Paul Beekmeyer.

“There are a lot of people in these spaces, and it’s good to have a fresh start on every surface,” Mr. Beekmeyer said. “They’ve been doing additional cleaning for a while now, and deep, industrial cleaning is standard practice in many places.”

While such a plan is in place, it is subject to change as the pandemic develops according to Lab’s Director of Operations Joe Wachowski.
