Gallery: Students attend annual BRAVE conference

Senior Emmanuelle Bal participates in a workshop called “Are you doing it for yourself or the white man?” where students used an interactive discussion format to explore how people of color have been affected by tokenism, whitewashing, internalized racism and double consciousness.

The annual Becoming Racially Aware and Valuing Ethnicity conference on April 5 featured Chicago-based music performers and speakers and consisted of 12 student-led workshops. 82 middle and high school students attended. Here is a review of different moments from the conference.
