The new U-Highlights leaders are Sadie Ellis and Kayla Monterola, editors-in-chief; Elise Prangley, managing editor; and Aaryana Brown, Mira Mrizek, Clara Paul and Lauren Romero, section editors.
Simon said he looks forward to making the environment more productive for beginners in photojournalism to learn and improve.
“I’m excited to have this influence over the program,” Simon said, “because I think it’s a really good and valuable position to have in terms of there’s all these ways to improve the photography side of both the Midway and U-Highlights.”
Kayla is excited to work with the other editor-in-chief and managing editor of U-Highlights. She is also enthusiastic to plan next year’s theme and improve their coverage.
“We’ve been kind of in talks about our next theme for next year’s yearbook already,” Kayla said, “and there’s been a lot of good ideas floating around about that, especially with all the topics that we felt were really prevalent during this year.”
