Clare O'Connor

Clare O’Connor, Editor-in-Chief

Clare O’Connor is an editor-in-chief and a member of the Class of 2023. She joined the Midway in the 2019-20 school year as a ninth grader. Outside of journalism, Clare is co-president of the Refugee Club, an Eye to Eye mentor and a student representative on Lab’s All-Schools Council. Outside of school, Clare volunteers at a local refugee support non-profit called FORA. During her time on the Midway staff, multiple of Clare’s stories have been recognized through Best of SNO. Out of everything she has written, Clare’s personal favorite story is a column entitled “Amid controversy, athletes seek inclusion.”

DEDICATED DESIGNER: In a homemade outfit, Martin Oliver sews his own clothes. Martin acquired the material for the striped shirt from working on costume design and said the garment is one of his favorite pieces he has made recently. The purple velvet featured in his vest was made by cutting up a robe he got at a flea market. Martin said that making clothes has helped him grow confidence.
