Math Team ends season with top rankings at local contests

Through practicing problems and meeting virtually, Math Team members earn high scores at contests such as the Illinois Mathematics League.

Math Team members continued their strong performance in recent local and national math contests and have concluded their season.

At the Illinois Council of Teachers of Mathematics State Math Contest Finals competition on March 17, the team placed first in the state. The ninth grade team placed first regionally and second in the state; the sophomore, junior, ninth grade/sophomore, junior/senior and calculator teams placed first both in the region and in the state; the senior team placed second in the region and third in the state.

At the Illinois Mathematics League competition on March 16, a ninth grader, a sophomore, two juniors and a senior earned perfect scores. The overall team placed first in the league.

At the North Suburban Math League competition on March 4, a ninth grader, a sophomore and two juniors earned perfect scores. The overall team placed second in the league.
