The U-High Midway website has won the 2022 Online Pacemaker Award for journalistic excellence from the National Scholastic Press Association.

 The Midway was one of 20 winners of the national award and the only winner from Illinois. The Midway first earned a spot in the top 47 finalists including three others from Illinois.

The Midway won its first Online Pacemaker in 2020 and was a finalist in 2021.

Editor-in-chief Lucia Kouri praised the staff for receiving the prestigious award for the second time in three years.

She said, “I think it’s really a reflection not just of individual members but of the entire team as a whole and how much tremendous effort the team has been putting in.”
