The Model United Nations team participated in a conference at Brown University Nov. 11-13 and sent beginning members to a conference at St. Ignatius College Prep on Nov. 5, but the team did not place at either competition. Charlie Benton and Olin Nafzinger each received a best delegate award, and several other students received individual awards.

Even without the results the team was hoping for, Secretary General Charlotte Sims said the conference was a good learning experience for the beginners.

“It was a nice training opportunity for them,” Charlotte said, “and it was good for them to see the structure of what a typical conference would look like.”

Charlotte was disappointed with the results from the Brown conference, but says she is proud of the team and optimistic for the future.

She said, “Even though we did not get the results we were hoping for, the experience brought us all together and we are all super proud of each other.”
