The U-High Finance Team won second place at this year’s NIU Investment Association Valuation Challenge on April 1.

The members of the winning team are Brandon Chang, Carter Chang, Ayush Mishra, Katie Sasamoto-Kurisu and Raza Zaidi.

The College of Business at Northern Illinois University hosts the challenge, where teams of investors are pitted against each other to make a hypothetical argument for the merger of two companies. The teams must thoroughly analyze the two companies, from their assets to their share prices. A presentation about their proposal is then delivered in front of judges.

This was the first time the event was hosted in person since the pandemic began.

“This year we got to go in person for the first time, and we did a lot of prep work and research for our slides. We felt like we gave a really good pitch,” Ayush said.

The Finance Team is made up of members of the Finance Club that meets every Wednesday during lunch in C211.
