A series of colorful dress-up days for spirit week will lead up to a neon-themed homecoming dance on Saturday.

Spirit week will be kicked off with stripes day on Monday, followed by denim day on Tuesday, neon day on Wednesday, grade color day on Thursday and maroon day on Friday.

“It creates community spirit when everyone dresses up in similar fashions especially with grade color day and Maroon Day,” Kepler Boonstra, Cultural Union president, said.

The homecoming dance will be Sept. 28 from 7:30-10:30 p.m. in Upper Kovler gymnasium. Neon will be everywhere as the theme of the dance will be “Glow Up.”  Tickets for the dance will be sold at lunch this week for $10 but will be $15 at the door.

Kepler said glow sticks will be passed out in the gymnasium filled with black light, highlighting neon clothing. He said letters can be written to friends in glow-in-the-dark ink, only to be read during the dance.
