Renaissance magazine submissions beginning

Submissions are open through February to contribute to the annually published Renaissance magazine. The Renaissance Literary Board, which meets each Friday during lunch in C308, collects poetry, short fiction and other written work for the magazine.

“We accept almost all of the pieces,” said board leader Jenna Nimer, a senior. “We’re willing to work with the writers. There’s no limit on the number of pieces we can take.”

Founded in 1979, the board is one half of the Renaissance magazine, along with the Art Board. Editors from the board are assigned to each written piece. After revisions, pieces are sent to the Art Board, where student art is added for the final product.

“It’s really refreshing, because everybody has their own take on things,” Jenna said. “If someone specializes in a specific type of poetry, for example, that helps contribute to the variety of pieces we see in the magazine.”
