Filling Blaine Lobby with festive music, the high school orchestra brought a slice of holiday spirit to Lab with their annual “Lobby String” Dec. 5.

From 8-8:40 a.m., the U-High Orchestra played string arrangements of classic holiday tunes, such as “Sevivon,” “Deck the Hall,” “Good King Wenceslas” and “Frosty the Snowman.”

The performance, which continued the long tradition of lobby sings (where young students would sing songs in Blaine Lobby), went very well.

“It went very smoothly,” said viola player Julian Derroitte. “With limited time to practice, for a high school orchestra, the tone and intonation was stellar.”

High school orchestra will perform their winter concert along with band and choir on Dec. 16, 7:30 p.m. at Mandel Hall.
