After integrating feedback from the Lab community, the director Search Advisory Committee has established the qualifications of the next Laboratory Schools director, which focus on building relationships and advancing Lab’s initiatives.

According to an Oct. 20 email to the Lab community from Daniel Abebe and Jason Tyler, co-chairs of the Search Advisory Committee, the new director must prioritize students, unify the Lab community, advance diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives, maintain relationships with the Faculty Association and University of Chicago, and ensure financial and operational stability.

Storheck Search & Associates, the executive search firm organizing the director search, will put together a set of candidates within the next 6-8 weeks, according to the email.

The full set of qualifications of the new director search is listed on the director search website.

Members of the Lab community may contribute their input by submitting the director search survey or writing to [email protected]
