Lab students are invited to attend Alumni Authors Live, a panel discussion with three alumni authors, that will be hosted over Zoom on Nov. 12 from 7:30-8:30 p.m.

Attendees will hear from alumni authors Maria Hinojosa, 1979; Carlo Rotella, 1982; and Gabriel Bump, 2009, all of whom have published books within the last year about their experiences growing up on the south side of Chicago.

This is the latest event in the Virtual Alumni Panel Series, which the Alumni Association launched last year. Students will receive the meeting link upon registration.

Michael Zarobe, director of alumni relations, said this is a way for alumni to showcase the books they’ve written to the Lab community.

“They’ve written these powerful stories about growing up on the south side and we want them to share their stories of hope, despair, activism and resiliency,” Mr. Zarobe said. “We want them to find a way to bring their literature to life.”
