As one of the two schools in the country to win both the print and website Pacemaker Awards, the U-High Midway’s website won the Online Pacemaker Award from the National Scholastic Press Association.

For the third time since 2020, the U-High Midway’s website won the Online Pacemaker Award from the National Scholastic Press Association.

Only two schools in the country, including U-High, won Pacemaker Awards for both the print and website newspaper this year.

Over 130 schools entered the competition, resulting in 26 finalists and 12 winners, including two from Illinois.

Audrey Park, a Midway editor-in-chief, said this award would not have been possible without every member of the Midway, because of the teamwork and dedication that each individual brings to the table.

“They don’t write to win awards. They write because they are passionate about representing their community,” Audrey said.“But the award is nice, of course, because it recognizes the hard work and problem-solving that goes on behind the scenes.”
