Unlike past years, Parent-Teacher Conferences will span two consecutive days in November. A committee made the schedule change, in hopes of conferences being more accessible to parents.

Conferences will be Nov. 14 from 5-7 p.m. and Nov. 15 from 8:30-11:30 a.m. and from 12:30-2:30 p.m. Students will not have classes. Parents will be notified on how to sign up for times.

Conferences are being held a week later than in the past, because U-High has switched to a semester schedule.

“This is the high school trying its best with a new model that we think will serve all constituent groups well, but that we are always wanting to acknowledge that it’s us trying and it might not be the best solution, but we’re hoping it is,” Assistant Principal Arsa Ahmed said.

This change will alter the times of Parent-Teacher Conferences in hopes of giving teachers a shorter work day than in previous years and making conferences more accessible to working parents.

Because conferences are later, Ms. Ahmed said it would probably not be the first time parents have heard from teachers.
