For the second year in a row, the Midway website has been awarded the Distinguished Site honor from the Student News Online network. This site is one of approximately 70 student news sites nationally to receive the award. 

To qualify, a site must meet requirements in six areas: continuous coverage, site excellence, story page excellence, engagement excellence, multimedia excellence and excellence in writing. 

Audrey Park, who as managing editor for 2022-23 had a lead role for the website, ensured the Midway stayed on track with publishing and consistent quality.

“There’s a lot of work that goes into the website, a lot of coordination, organization,” she said, “and for us to receive the award is just a nice way for all of that to be recognized.”
