Chantal Thornberry will join the Lab community as equal opportunity services director and the deputy Title IX coordinator in July. Students seeking help with concerns about discrimination or harassment in the coming weeks should contact Dean of Students Ana Campos.

With the departure of Betsy Noel, Lab’s equal opportunity services director and Title IX coordinator, students seeking help with concerns about discrimination or harassment in the coming weeks should contact Dean of Students Ana Campos, Ms. Noel said.

Chantal Thornberry will join the Lab community in July to become equal opportunity services director and the deputy Title IX coordinator. Most recently, Ms. Thornberry has been the director of student culture and wellbeing at Morristown Beard School in New Jersey.

Ms. Thornberry, who in 2023 was one of four finalists to be principal of U-High, has had 20 years of experience in education. Though she has worked in schools all over the Midwest, she is a Chicago native.

In an email announcing the decision to hire Ms. Thornberry as Ms. Noel’s replacement, Director of Schools Tori Jueds said “Lab faculty, staff, students, and parents have seen in Chantal the skills, experiences, and competencies necessary to this critically important and highly specialized role at Lab.”
