How did you become a Sox fan? And how did it start?
“I was born on the South Side. I’ve lived on the South Side most of my life. I used to go to White Sox games all the time because Cubs games were more expensive than White Sox games, and it was easier to get to White Sox games and park.”
Do you have a favorite game that you’ve attended?
“They were in the playoffs, I think in 2022 against the Astros. And I went to one of those games. Everybody was wearing white and it was just 30,000 people there and it is one of the most electric atmospheres I’ve ever been in. So it’s pretty cool.”
What is your favorite ballpark game food?
“Oooh, that’s a good question. I go for the soft serve ice cream. Chocolate soft serve ice cream. It’s good stuff.”
What do you enjoy about the atmosphere of a game?
“White Sox stadium is a lot less noisy than Wrigley Field. It’s just comfortable sitting there. It’s, you know, it’s like the big games, the game of the day. It’s fun. Then you go get a little bit of ice cream, you go get a little bit of food. You’re around people. It’s good stuff.”
Do you prefer a night or a day game?
“Night game for sure. And there’s fireworks at night as well.”
What’s your favorite place to sit in the stands during a game?
“When you go to the White Sox game, they really don’t care where you sit. You can buy the cheapest tickets, and then you can go sit wherever you want. And then I usually sit by third base or first base. You get a nice, good view. You can see the ball clearly. It’s fun and you’re paying seven bucks for $300 tickets.”
Do you have a piece of socks merchandise? And if not, what’s your favorite piece of Sox memorabilia?
“I mean, they do throw shirts out every game. I’ve caught a couple, but probably one of my favorite is I have a vintage White Sox hat from the 1970s I wear around to the White Sox games. I got it from my dad. Beyond that, I also have a White Sox jersey with my last name on it. That’s pretty cool. Those are probably my two favorite.”
