An important part of any baseball game is where you sit to see it. Depending on what someone wants out of their experience, different seats will give the best angle of the game.
The best seats to catch a fly ball
The bleachers: According to an online baseball forum, these seats in the outfield, especially those closest to the field itself, have the highest chance of getting a visitor a baseball. Home runs fall in this area and players often throw extra balls up to fans between innings.
Beside first base: This is the most common area for foul balls to land. Seats a few rows back are optimal since a net blocks balls hit directly at the first rows.
Rate Field
Tickets are overall more affordable than Wrigley Field, though successful hits into the stands are less frequent for fly-ball collectors.
Cheaper: Sections 508 and 509 on the corner of first base side and outfield are about $20, even when other seats are selling out.
Best deal close up: The lowest price for a seat in the first few rows is $42.25 in the bleachers. Though some stadiums have unreserved bleacher seating, tickets at Rate Field are assigned to specific sections like all other seats. Bleacher tickets sell for less by the corners but sacrifice the view that the bleachers have.
Wrigley Field
This is usually the more expensive park, though prices largely depend on how soon the game will be played. Prices are reduced for upcoming games that aren’t sold out.
Cheaper: The backmost rows of the infield generally range from $20 for a cheaper game and $50 for an expensive one.
Best deal close up: Tickets in the bleachers aren’t assigned. Buying one and getting to the ballpark early can lead to seats near the action.
