What new ideas, projects or initiatives do you have?
“I would like to take attendance at sporting events with a quick ID tap, and reward the advisories that attend the most games with pizza parties throughout the year. I will also add a talent show in winter of the school year, as well as hire in-school talent for school events, rather than bringing outside talent. Finally, I will hand out more Phoenix Awards throughout the year to incentivize good community and friendship.”
What is your main goal and how do you plan realistically to achieve it?
“I would like to restore joy and spirit to Lab. I feel as though many people are not proud of being a Lab student, and my campaign is based on restoring that pride. I will mainly do so by relentlessly pursuing my policy ideas.
What experiences, skills and other qualifications make you a good candidate for this position?
“I’ve worked multiple jobs in my life before as the middleman between a student body and an administration, and I have experience collecting and expressing the concerns of the students to the admin.”
What is a change in the school this year that you disagreed with or would like to see remedied?
“I disagreed with the changes in co-curricular weeks. I feel there should be one for election week, and they should be spread more evenly throughout the year. I also disagreed with the two-week Spring Break.”
How will you communicate the concerns of students to the administration?
“I’m a good listener, and I have many connections within the community. Many Student Council members of old have attempted a drop box, or open complaint form, but that never truly works. What works is building trust with your student body, and allowing space for concerns to be expressed.”
