What ideas, projects or initiatives do you have for next year? What is your main goal?
Next year, I want to make sure every student knows exactly where our money is going. That means no guessing and no confusion. My biggest project will be sharing monthly budget updates that are short, clear and actually fun to read. I’ll also organize quick financial literacy workshops — simple lessons on real-life skills like budgeting, saving and smart spending — so students leave Lab feeling more prepared for life after high school. My main goal is to make finance at Lab transparent, accessible and something every student can feel confident about, because at the end of the day, it’s your money, too.
What experiences, skills and other qualifications make you a good candidate for this position?
Finance is my focus, and I’ve built a strong foundation in it through both academic and hands-on experience. As a Research Intern at Ravenswood Capital last summer, I developed an API to evaluate prospective investments while staying updated on market trends and industry developments. My successes at the Cal Berkeley Stock Pitch Competition and the Harvard Crimson Global Case Competition have allowed me to refine my skills in financial modeling, researching and analyzing financial reports. These experiences, combined with my leadership as president of Mock Trial, have honed my ability to communicate complex information clearly and build trust through transparency and action. With a deep passion for finance, I’m ready to put my knowledge to work in managing Lab’s budget responsibly. You want the person in charge of your money to know what they are doing, and I am the right choice for that.
How do you plan on being the voice of students while working in conjunction with faculty and admin?
Being a student representative means advocating for students in every decision. I plan to keep student voices at the center of the conversation by ensuring that feedback is gathered continuously, not just during big events. I’ll work closely with faculty and administration to ensure decisions are made transparently and reflect the needs of the students. While collaboration with faculty and admin is essential, my primary focus will always be to stand up for what students want and need, especially when it comes to how our money is spent and how our school community is shaped. I’m committed to transparency, fairness and making sure your voice is heard in every decision. With my financial knowledge and dedication to student empowerment, I’ll work to make sure you understand how our budget is spent and that your feedback is always considered.
