What ideas, projects or initiatives do you have for next year? What is your main goal?
Although, as a candidate for secretary, I am playing a mostly supportive role, I will still push to carefully organize the events and initiatives that I know the student body wants and maintain strong communication. I will focus on club leaders and members of the athletics department because I recognize that many students’ passions are under-supported, and I can help Student Council give them that support.
What experiences, skills and other qualifications make you a good candidate for this position?
I have had many experiences supporting teams, including my high positions on BSA and Mock Trial, my role on athletic teams, and even my previous experience as the main member of my old school’s Student Council. In other words, I got your back because I will support you, be patient with you, and even do the busy work that you don’t want to do.
How do you plan on being the voice of students while working in conjunction with faculty and admin?
Did you know that the secretary posts the notes for many of the Student Council meetings, because when I told others, many didn’t know. I want to further communication with the student body, whether it’s setting up meetings or just having friendly conversations, because I believe dialogue will help keep Student Council on track and help us carry your voice even when talking to faculty and admin.
